Known as one
of the rarest vintage pedals ever made. Not very many people have had the
pleasure of playing one. The 1970's Tycobrahe Pedalflanger was the first
flanger pedal ever made for guitar. The original Tycobrahe Pedalflanger pedal sold for $220
in 1977. Have you ever played one? Chicago Iron has spent the time
(years) and effort to refine this design
to the highest degree possible. We think you'll like what we have done with this
rare and useful vintage tool. The Chicago Iron Tycobrahe Pedalflanger
allows you to create a
vivid soundscape with widely adjustable chorus, vibe, leslie, flange and
a multitude of extra sounds from liquid lush to sci-fi alien. Can be used in both Auto Mode
and Manual Mode on the fly. Very human like in it's expression. A true
"keeper" effect pedal. Comes complete with the original Tycobrahe style art, knobs
and wood "crate" stash box.

The Pedalflanger arrived in perfect condition. I opened it up and it looks perfect, nearly identical to pictures I have seen of the innards of the original Pedalflangers. More importantly it sounds great. It is going to take me a very long time to figure out the mysteries of this pedal. I have gotten chorus, vibe, echo, "R2D2 robot sounds", yelping animal sounds, spooky ghost sounds, jet flight sounds, flanging and other wildnesses. I think that my default setting will be the vibrato/vibe sounds, as combined with a delay and a volume pedal, I can get haunting organ sounds. Anyway, it is great to know that there are all these possibilities from one pedal. I love pedals that can do several things well.
I use it with a Asher Ben Harper Lap Steel and a Victoria Deluxe amp. My other pedals include a Hilton Volume pedal, a Analogman Sunlion, a FoxRox octave, a Zendrive, a Red Witch Tremolo, an EHX DMM, and ZVEX Lo Fi Loop Junky. I love lots of pedals to make ambient music and with this pedal I am very happy.
Thank you!

Chicago Iron
manufactures 3 models of the Tycobrahe Octavia. The Octavian without LED is
no longer made.
Here is a concise
description of each.
1.) The
Chicago Iron Tycobrahe Octavia SE is a faithful reproduction of the original
1970's Tycobrahe Octavia. It is the reincarnation of the famous Tycobrahe
Octavia. Includes all the same art, logos and knobs as the legendary
originals. The pedal is true bypass and has a 9v DC jack. Comes in original style
wood box. Due to the huge success
of this pedal there is an 2 WEEK DELIVERY at this time. Orders are
being taken on a first come first serve basis. |
2.) The Chicago Iron
Octavian Octave. The same great circuit as the Tycobrahe SE, but has an
indicator LED and less expensive knobs and art. The pedal is true bypass and
has a 9v DC jack. Comes in original style wood box. |
3.) The Chicago
Iron Octavian PLUS. Now with FOUR different tones! 1960's octave and
fuzz and 1970's octave and fuzz. The same great circuit as the Octavia with the 4 most
popular player requested features. First, a foot switchable octave. We added
an additional foot switch to allow the pedal to be switched from fuzz to
octave on the fly.
Second, we added a dual color indicator LED that shows
red for fuzz and green for octave.
Third, we added giant size knobs that are
easily adjusted with the foot.
Fourth and last, we added
the new Chicago Iron exclusive 60's 70's switch that allows you to switch between the two most famous
octave sound eras. The pedal is true bypass and has a 9v DC jack. Comes in
original style wood box. |

| "Just received them both,

me in line/on board - for one of the 1st. pedalflangers. and any
reproduction therafter."- T. (from email) |
| "I must say that the
Octavian is hands down the best sounding Octavia I have used. You really
have done an awesome job. Thanks for getting it out to me so quickly. I
really appreciated it!! The tone of it is just so much WARMER than all of
the other Octavias I have used - Even the original!!!! Congratulations.
Thanks for checking out the New Year's show on T.V. It was a great time,
and although I didn't get to kick it on for that show, the Octavian was
definately up there. Thanks again for your amazing pedal, and hope to hear
from you soon." - P.S. (from email) |
| "Great WAH!!! I HAVE THEM
ALL< THIS ONE IS GREAT! A++ PACK, PRODUCT. THANKS!!!" (from Ebay) |
"I really like how notes
bloom as they decay into this clear ringing octave. This pedal just sounds
so organic it really kills the xxxxxxxx and for $100 more is more than
worth the difference in price if you need a warm high quality sounding
pedal.
